// the long version
From graphic design to full-stack, the unabridged.
I started as a graphic designer in 2017, making logos and fliers while I was still in secondary school. After school I worked briefly as a computer operator in a cafe โ that job made me curious about tech, and the curiosity never closed.
Graphic design led to UI/UX, because replicating apps was more fun. Then COVID happened and I learned WordPress. When WordPress started limiting me, I learned PHP so I could write my own themes and plugins. I learned Laravel because a client needed a financial platform and I wasn't going to turn down the work. From there it kept going โ Next.js, React, TypeScript, Node, databases, deployment, whatever the next project asked for. I learned everything practically, as the work called for it.
Writing came in sideways. First it was copywriting for the sites I was building, then articles. I never stopped โ I still write the copy and the brand voice for every platform I deliver.
In 2019 I founded Bano Studios, a film production studio in Abuja with a 10-person crew. We make narrative films โ I write and direct when we're in production โ and we run a daily film-equipment rental business across the city, run by full-time staff.
I didn't plan the route. Each project demanded the next thing, not a roadmap. The map gets cleaner from a distance.
So that's the work: I build full-stack web platforms, I write, and I make films. Sometimes a project uses all three. Most times it's just one.
